In the Crimea, frost and drought reduced the growth of roses and lavender

Krympress reports:

The growth of roses and lavender was reduced in the Republic of Crimea due to drought and several waves of spring frosts, said TASS Director of the Turgenevskaya agricultural film Alexei Mishin. The annual plant growth is an indicator indicating an increase in the size and mass of plants during the year. It depends on many factors, including the climate, the availability of water and nutrients, as well as the features of the type of plant.

Both Rosa and Lavender felt frosts. There is an annual increase in the plant, and this year growth in the rose and lavender is less than usual. Firstly, due to long frosts and, secondly, due to drought. This year just we need to survive, we hope for good weather in the next, ”said Mishin.

The Turgenevskaya agricultural company owns one of the largest lavender fields in Europe. In total, the company has over 200 hectares of lavender fields in the Bakhchisarai district, on which 4 varieties of lavender are growing. Also on 30 hectares, 2 varieties of roses are grown here.
