The criminal case on the death of the Taigan Lviv Park and the Director of the Tales Zoo in the Republic of Crimea Leocadia Perevalova, which predators tore off, was terminated in the Republic of Crimea, and was discontinued. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, requested a report on the progress of the investigation and the reasons for the termination of the case, according to Telegram channel Information Center SK.
Perevalova died on October 16 during a cage with three lions as a result of an attack by predators. In the GSU of the IC of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, a criminal case was opened on the fact of violations of labor protection requirements that entailed by negligence the death of a person (part 2. Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In the GSU of the IC of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, this fact investigated the criminal case, which was terminated. The chairman of the IC of the Russian Federation requested from the head of the Main Investigative Committee of the IC of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol Vladimir Terentyev a report on the results of the criminal investigation and the reasons that served as the basis for deciding on its termination— the message says.
The execution of the order of the head of the SK was put on control in the central apparatus of the department.
The Safari Park «Taigan» is located in the Belogorsky district of Crimea on the shore of the Tagan reservoir. In 2021, employees of the Main Directorate of the IC of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol opened a case on the attack of a predator on a one-year-old child in a safari park, as a result of which he lost his finger. In May 2024, the Central District Court of Simferopol repeatedly considered the case against the director of the park Oleg Zubkov after the incident with the predator and passed a sentence in the form of one year of conditional imprisonment with a trial period.
