In Crimea, the Krasnoperekopskaya inter-district prosecutor’s office conducted an audit of compliance with the requirements of budget legislation and legislation on procurement for municipal needs in the local administration. It was established that in 2022 the contractor signed a municipal contract with the administration of Krasnoperekopsk for the installation of street lighting.
Due to the use of lanterns with obviously worse characteristics than those provided for in the design and estimate documentation, the contractor underestimated the cost of the actual work performed. As a result of his criminal actions, the city budget suffered damage totaling more than 6 million rubles.
In this regard, the prosecutor’s office sent the materials of the check to the investigating authority, based on the results of their consideration, a criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed on an especially large scale)— reported in the supervisory department.
The progress of the investigation of the criminal case is under the control of the prosecutor’s office.
