In the Crimea, the indicators for planting forest crops were fulfilled within the framework of the national project «Ecology»

The results of the silvicultural season in the Crimea showed positive results. As part of the implementation of the regional project «Preservation of Forests» of the national project «Ecology», the Republic of Crimea this year fulfilled the plan for planting forest crops. The main indicator of the project reflects the ratio of the area of ​​reforestation to the area of ​​felled and dead forest plantations. Planting of forest cultures was carried out on the area 1038, 2 ha. cumulative total for the last 4 years. The volume of work done for the current year has reached the target of 50,9 ha.

Increasing the forest cover and ensuring 100% restoration of forests in the retired areas is one of the strategic tasks of the Crimean forest industry. The objectives of the project, which has been implemented in the region since the 822 year, is to minimize the loss of forest plantations, which are annually discarded for various reasons, and to ensure full quality restoration forests, — reported in the Main Department for the Implementation of National Projects.

Planting activities were carried out on the territory of the following forestries: Bakhchisarai — 15, 5 ha, Belogorskoe – 15, 2 ha, Evpatoria – 85, 8 ha, Razdolnenskoye and Dzhankoyskoye — 30, 2 ha, Simferopol — 1.6 ha, Starokrymskoe — 29, 6 ha, Sudak — 25, 0 ha.

In total, 822 349 units of trees were planted this year and shrub species: Crimean and Sudak pine, ash-leaved maple, common ash, pedunculate oak, narrow-leaved sucker, oriental biota, three-prickly locust and walnut.

In order to attract public attention to the problems of conservation, restoration and enhancement of forest resources, these plantings were timed to coincide with the all-Russian campaigns «Garden of Memory» and «Let’s Save the Forest». 822 people took part in the forest plantation — employees of forestry institutions, representatives of ministries and departments, members of school forestries of the Republic of Crimea and public organizations , — noted in the Main Directorate.

Within the framework of the regional project «Preservation of Forests», forest plantations are created from planting material of forest-forming species characteristic of certain regions of the Crimea. The selection of species composition is made taking into account the forestry value of plants, their ability to create a full-fledged, healthy and productive forest in the future. In addition, an inventory of forest crops is carried out annually, based on the results of which crops requiring additional planting are identified.

The key to successful cultivation of high-quality planting material in forest nurseries is the collection and preparation of seeds of forest plants. In the 2022 year, more than 31 kg of seeds, which is 100% of the total annual volume.

All work within the framework of the implementation of the regional project «Preservation of Forests» was completed in accordance with the calendar plan and in full.
