CrimeaPRESS reports:
On May 8, a meeting-requiem dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held in the Crimean village of Batalnoe (Leninsky district). During the event, a burial ceremony was held for 75 soldiers of the Crimean Front who died during the hostilities (January-May 1942) at the Ak-Monai positions. The remains of Soviet soldiers were discovered during the search program «Find a Soldier» and the Memory Watch «Krymfront».
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the search engines, military personnel, representatives of the authorities, Yunarmiya schoolchildren, Cossacks, and the public.
A requiem for the fallen heroes was held by the rector of the Church of St. John of the Kronstadt village of Lenino, Father Rostislav.
To the sounds of a gun salvo, those present honored the liberators of the Ak-Monai positions with a minute of silence and laid wreaths and flowers at the mass grave of commanders and fighters, paying tribute to the great feat of the heroes — liberators, in gratitude for the Victory, for a peaceful and clear sky.
