On March 15, on the eve of a historic event for our country — the reunification of Crimea with Russia, a rally «Crimea — History and Pride» was held at the Artek International Children’s Center.
The anthem of the Russian Federation was played on Palace Square, and the Artek children of each children’s camp lined up the phrase: «Russia — Crimea — Artek». As the press service of the International Children’s Center notes, more than two thousand schoolchildren from all regions of the country, including new territories, participate in the celebration of the «Crimean Spring».

And I know how important today and all the days of the “Crimean Spring” are for every Crimean. I would like to say thank you to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for returning Crimea to such a large multinational family — Russia. You all see how Crimea has changed during this time. Nine years have passed: we have new roads, new kindergartens, schools. We have such a large and significant object — the Crimean bridge. Look where we are today: Artek is the pride of our Crimea!

Congratulating Artek residents on the anniversary of an important event for the whole country, IBC Director Konstantin Fedorenko will remind everyone what Crimea is:
Of course, Crimea is the place where the hero city of Sevastopol is located, where the beautiful Yalta, the hero city of Kerch, is located. Of course, Crimea is the people who glorified our country: Suvorov, Ushakov, Vernadsky, Kurchatov. This is the great Aivazovsky. And, of course, Crimea is events. You, Artek residents, for 97 years — almost two million. I am sure that Artek will become an event in your life, motivating you to achieve great tasks, great goals that will be directed for the benefit of you, your families, your small homeland and for the benefit of our great country — Russia.
Over the past 9 years, grandiose projects have been implemented on the Crimean peninsula, and the Land of Childhood has been revived for Artek residents. The global reconstruction of the infrastructure has turned Artek into a modern educational center. Artek has been given the status of an international innovative platform for general and additional education, as well as health improvement and recreation.
If in 2014 there were only a few additional education studios, then in 2023 there are 152 studios that implement programs in six areas. In 2014, our school was the first in the Crimea to be licensed for educational activities, and tested a new technology for organizing educational activities in the format of a network educational module. The school is equipped with modern laboratory facilities. Currently, the Artek school is participating in the project “School of the Ministry of Education of Russia— the director of Artek told about the changes that had taken place.

We are undergoing repairs of sports infrastructure facilities. At the same time, the construction of the Solnechny children’s camp continues. At present, buildings have been erected, work is underway to pour the foundations for the center of innovative and educational technologies. This is the heart of the camp, which we plan to open by 2025. The new camp will host 1000 children at the same timeFedorenko noted.
If in 2014 Artek hosted 6,000 children per year, this year the IDC is setting a record — more than 42,000 children from 89 constituent entities of the Russian Federation will have a rest in the camps.
Of course, every year we try to confirm the status of an international center. Last year alone, Artek accepted about 1,500 children from 35 foreign countries. International history will have further development— stressed Konstantin Fedorenko.
