In the Kirov region of Crimea, a moped driver will be sent to prison for drunk driving.

The court found that the 27-year-old man, having a criminal record for driving while intoxicated, did not draw the appropriate conclusions for himself and in November last year, after drinking alcohol, he again began driving a moped made homemade from factory spare parts. Moving along one of the streets in the village of Privetnoye, Kirovsky district, the convict was stopped by traffic police officers.— said the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea.

The court, taking into account the existing criminal record and the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to 1 year and 2 months in prison with deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles for 5 years 6 months. He will serve his sentence in a penal colony.

A handmade moped belonging to a convicted person was confiscated to the state. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
