In the Nizhnegorsky region of Crimea, the court punished the driver whose fault the cyclist died

In the Nizhnegorsky region of Crimea, a driver was convicted for causing the death of a cyclist. The court found that in May 2023, the convict, driving a Lada VIS 234900 car, moving at a speed limit on the Nizhnegorsky-Belogorsk highway, hit a cyclist who was moving in the direction of travel of the vehicle. The victim died from his injuries in a healthcare facility.

The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 1 year and 9 months of imprisonment to be served in a penal colony with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 2 years. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
