In the Saki region, a married couple found themselves in the dock. The husband and wife were found guilty of committing a crime under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sale of products that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers, under the guise of alcohol).

The court found that the convicts organized at their place of residence the production, storage for sales purposes and further sale of low-quality alcohol-containing products for monetary compensation. Thus, a man in a garage at his place of residence produced an alcohol-containing liquid, in which, according to an examination, toxic impurities were identified, and a woman sold the resulting counterfeit,” the prosecutor’s office provided details.

The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the convicts to imprisonment for periods of 8 months and 1 year suspended sentences with probationary periods for similar periods. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
