A 26-year-old local resident who had previously been convicted and came under suspicion admitted his guilt. A young man who abuses alcohol said that when he noticed a cat with a sore paw at a construction site, he decided to rid it of infection. The investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Cruelty to animals.” A preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place was chosen against the suspect.,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment from a large fine to six months of arrest.
