In the villages of Mikhailovka and Chervonoye, Saki region, a labor force of 30 students and schoolchildren carried out landscaping at the monuments of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Volunteers tore up grass, trimmed branches and young growth, whitewashed tree trunks, painted monuments, and removed trash.
The labor landing takes place within the framework of the Patriotic action “Victory Landing of the Russian North Ossetia”, aimed at improving, cleaning and repairing monuments of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, providing assistance to the elderly, home front workers, children and WWII veterans, conducting open lessons about the events of the Second World War in schools, in particular, about the events of the Crimean offensive operation of 1944 and the liberation of Crimea from the Nazi invaders. The campaign is also aimed at popularizing volunteerism and work activity among school and student youth.
Participation in this Victory Landing It became an honor and responsibility for me at the same time. It is important not only in words, but also in deeds, through our work, to contribute to the preservation of our history and memory of those who defended our Motherland, – notes Ksenia Karpukhina, commissar of the Orion detachment of the Crimean regional branch of the Russian student detachments.
