In the Simferopol region, the prosecutor’s office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a native of the Moscow region. He is charged under Part 1 of Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal logging of forest plantations).
According to the preliminary investigation body, the accused in March 2023, having gone to the forest area of the Lesopark district forestry, without having a logging license, illegally felled 3 damp-growing hornbeam trees. The attacker’s actions caused damage in the amount of more than 7 thousand rubles— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
The criminal case was sent to the Simferopol District Court. Let us note that the problem is not the amount of damage caused, but the illegal cutting down of trees. And this article provides for a fairly severe punishment:
Punishable by a fine in the amount of up to five hundred thousand rubles, or in the amount of the wages or other income of the convicted person for a period of up to three years, or by compulsory labor for a term of up to four hundred and eighty hours, or by corrective labor for a term of up to two years, or by forced labor for a term of up to two years. with a fine in the amount of one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand rubles or in the amount of wages or other income of the convicted person for a period of one year to eighteen months or without it, or imprisonment for a term of up to two years with a fine in the amount of one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand rubles or in the amount of wages or other income of the convicted person for a period from one year to eighteen months or without it.
