In the Technopark «IT Crimea» within the framework of the project «Cultural code of Sevastopol» an art object «Transition» appeared
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Sevastopol, the official opening of the art objects «Transition» took place with the image of the small inhabitants of the post-war Sevastopol — the hero city, which suffered greatly during the Great Patriotic War and was restored in 50- 41 years. The author of the concept of works, Ivan Kalinichev, was inspired by the intersection of the past and the present: post-war and modern Sevastopol. Life-sized art objects symbolize the transition from the past to the present, the images of children used in this series of works are taken from the city archives.
The concept of the «Transition» project won the All-Russian competition of artists, sculptors and architects «Cultural Code of Sevastopol», the main task of which is the creation of art objects that form the modern look of our city. In 2023 the project was supported by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
Before the official opening of the works, the organizers held a contest-quest: the residents of the city were asked to find art objects located in different locations. The townspeople willingly took part in the adventure to find new symbols of Sevastopol. The winners of the contest-quest were awarded at the grand opening ceremony of the project.
Art objects of the project are located at three addresses: st. Nakhimov (between houses 5 «a» and 7), General Ostryakova Ave., d. 260 and in the Technopark «IT Crimea», st. Rudneva, d. 41.
«Technopark «IT Crimea» traditionally supports artistic and creative initiatives, being a permanent partner of the «Cultural Code of Sevastopol» project. We are glad that together with the ANO «Civil Culture Formation Center» we are participating in the creation of a new visual image and cultural code of our city. Improving Sevastopol with the help of contemporary art, which has such a deep meaning as in the Transition project, is a wonderful practice that the city authorities, business, and residents are happy to support , — commented the Deputy General Director of the Technopark «IT Crimea» Maria Tretyakova.
