CrimeaPRESS reports:

The day before, the Yalta police duty station received several reports of robberies committed near a public transport stop. One of the applicants, a 33-year-old local resident, said that at night an unknown person sneaked up on him, struck him several times on the head, snatched his mobile phone and disappeared.

As the police established, the attacker continued his criminal intent and committed a similar attack on another passerby, stealing a communication device and money from the victim. The amount of damage caused amounted to over 12 thousand rubles. A squad immediately left for the specified address and after carrying out all the necessary operational-search measures, law enforcement officers detained the attacker “without delay.”

The suspect turned out to be a 45-year-old local resident who already had criminal experience. It was established that the man, while intoxicated, attacked the applicants and snatched personal belongings from them, intending to use the stolen property at his own discretion, after which he tried to escape from the scene of the crime— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

A confession was obtained from the suspect. The attacker dismantled one of the mobile phones and threw it away, however, money and a communication device belonging to another applicant were seized and returned to the owner.

While drinking alcohol, the victim left personal belongings unattended, and after his friend left, he noticed the loss of an expensive communication device worth about 70 thousand rubles.

The 5-year-old suspect hurried to get rid of the branded item and sold the stolen property. Police officers identified the place where the attacker sold the communication device, seized the stolen property and returned it to the owner.,” the police clarified.

An investigator from police department No. 3 “Massandra” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“theft”).
