In Yalta, a storm wind destroyed not only a sixty-year-old beautiful cedar tree, but also a hundred more trees
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In fact, the storm, which caused considerable damage in coastal cities, destroyed embankments in southern coastal villages, in some incomprehensible way “sorted” Yalta itself. The city embankment is fine.
Yesterday it was removed from the accumulated pebbles and fallen tree branches, and now it is again beautiful, elegant, beyond time, seasons and weather conditions, delighting the residents of Yalta and vacationing guests. Even the palm trees were not askew.
But the trouble is, the storm wind destroyed (without exaggeration) the landmark of Yalta — a sixty-year-old handsome cedar tree that grew in the area of the Lenin monument. More about this in our material.
In total, since the beginning of the storm, Yalta authorities have received more than 750 complaints. The vast majority have been worked out. About 400 people are working to eliminate the consequences of bad weather in Greater Yalta, and over 80 pieces of equipment are involved.
Regarding heat supply and water supply, pressing issues have been resolved; current applications are in progress. As for electricity supply, 500 subscribers were connected, 115 remained — private houses and 2 apartment buildings in Gurzuf. The task set by the Head of Crimea is to close the issue as soon as possible. Of the more than 100 fallen trees and structures, 28 remain to be removed. The repair of 14 roofs is under control. We continue to collect information on coastal infrastructure (we have data on damage to 16) and supporting walls (3 were damaged)said the head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko.
Today, the authorities and specialists from the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Crimea are checking the condition of bank protection structures in the region.
