Students in grades 8-11 will serve as an Honor Guard at the Hill of Glory memorial. It should be noted that in Yalta there are two stages of the “Watch of Memory of Generations — Post No. 1” — autumn and spring, during which city schoolchildren provide a guard of honor twice a day.
The memory watch has become a good tradition, playing an important role in the patriotic education of the younger generation, based on the examples of courage and heroism that our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers showed, fighting for the independence of our Motherland, we teach young people to love their great Fatherland. The names of the heroes who gave their lives for our future will remain in the heart of every descendant. The memory of the millions who died who forged victory will not fade. As long as we remember, we will live and our Motherland will livesays Yanina Pavlenko, head of the Yalta administration, in her welcoming speech.
Deputy Chairman of the Yalta City Council Denis Davydov also addressed those present:
Honor guards on the Hill of Glory from all schools in the city district will carry out the mission of Respect and Memory for all our compatriots who died for the Motherland for 40 days! We will always honor and remember our ancestors and contemporaries, we will protect the stories of courage, perseverance and sacrifice of real Men — defenders of their state. I wish all the guys to fulfill the honorable mission entrusted to them with dignity! Victory will always be ours.
