In Yalta, the court punished the truck driver responsible for an accident with an injured child
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Yalta, a verdict was passed in a criminal case regarding an accident with a truck that hit a teenager and fell on an administrative building. The driver (a resident of Sevastopol) was found guilty under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, which through negligence resulted in the infliction of serious harm to human health, if it was committed by a person in a state of intoxication). About this accident — HERE.
The court established that on May 26 of this year the man was driving a Shakman truck, which contained more than 25 tons of asphalt concrete mixture. Moving along Blucher Street in the city of Yalta, the defendant chose incorrect driving techniques, which during the movement led to overheating of the brake system, decreased efficiency and its further failure. After losing control of the vehicle, the truck drove onto the sidewalk, where it hit a teenager born in 2008 and an administrative building.
The victim received multiple injuries as a result of the traffic accident and was hospitalized. The driver refused to undergo a drunkenness test— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to 3 years in prison to serve the sentence in a penal colony. He was deprived of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles for 2 years.
Details about the condition of the injured boy — HERE.
