In Yalta, the prosecutor's office sent to court a criminal case about an accident that resulted in the death of a person

In Yalta, the prosecutor’s office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a 44-year-old resident of the city of Anapa. He is accused under paragraph “a” of Part 4 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of a person through negligence, committed by a person in a state of intoxication).
According to investigators, in December last year the man, while intoxicated, began driving a Skoda Octavia. Moving along the Yalta-Sevastopol highway, the accused drove into the lane intended for oncoming traffic, where he collided with a Volkswagen Golf car.
As a result of a traffic accident, the driver of a Volkswagen Golf died at the scene of the accident from his injuries, and his passenger was seriously injured— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.

With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Yalta City Court for consideration on the merits. The culprit of a fatal accident faces severe punishment — from 5 to 12 years in prison.
