In Yalta, the stage of the patriotic project “Watch of Memory of Generations – Post No. 1” was launched
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Yalta from the Nazi invaders, the grand opening of the spring stage of the Generations Memory Watch — Post No. 1 — took place on the Hill of Glory.
The liberation of Yalta was not easy for our defenders! During the years of occupation the city was practically destroyed. The Nazis did not spare anyone — neither children, nor old people, nor women. Residents of Yalta were taken prisoner, shot, tortured and starved. But our city survived and was able to gradually return to peaceful life. Low bow to veterans for peace in their native land. We will forever remember the feat of the Soviet people accomplished in 1941-1945. Eternal memory to our Heroes. No one is forgotten — nothing is forgotten… Happy Liberation Day of Yalta! — the press service quotes the Head of the municipality — Chairman of the Yalta City Council Konstantin Shimanovsky.
The head of the city administration, Yanina Pavlenko, also welcomed the participants of this important patriotic project.
I am sincerely glad that so many children today are worthy heirs of the Victory, true guardians of our history, thanks to whom the memory of the heroes carries through the years. Today, when the country is faced with new challenges, when we are again protected by worthy sons of the Fatherland, this is especially important. We are proud of the Heroes of the past and present. We believe in Victory! — emphasizes the head of administration.
