In Yalta, a court issued a verdict in a criminal case against three residents of the region. Depending on their role and degree of participation, they are found guilty of committing crimes under paragraphs. “a”, “b”, “c” part 4 art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery), part 2 of Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (compulsion to testify).
The court established that the attackers developed a plan for a robbery against a resident of the village of Koreiz, for which they followed him. In mid-July 2021, the victim left his home for his daily jog. The defendants attacked him, tied him up and struck him at least 8 times with rebar. After that, they took away the keys to his home and safe, from where they stole more than 2 million rubles. The attackers were promptly detained by internal affairs officers. In addition, one of the defendants threatened the victim’s wife, forcing her to give false testimony, the prosecutor’s office explained the details of the case.
The Yalta City Court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the men to imprisonment for periods of 8 years, 8 years 10 months and 9 years, to be served in a maximum security correctional colony.
