In Yevpatoria, a 20-year-old seller decided to “earn extra money” and became a “courier” for scammers
CrimeaPRESS reports:
“I worked part-time” for a short time, but I earned my time.
Police officers detained a “courier” of scammers who was operating in Yevpatoria and Saki.
The duty station of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Evpatoria received a message from a 70-year-old elderly woman about a remote fraud committed against her. Unidentified people over the phone reported that her granddaughter allegedly caused the accident and a large sum of money was required to resolve the issue of non-prosecution. To help a loved one, a woman gave 100 thousand rubles to the courier who arrived.— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
As a result of the successful implementation of the operational development, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Yevpatoria detained a 20-year-old seller of a consignment store, who explained that he decided to earn extra money through an advertisement in the messenger, acting as a “courier” for the transfer of funds obtained through fraud. On the instructions of the “curator,” he received money from the deceived woman, which, on the instructions of the “employer,” he transferred to a bank account. He kept 5 thousand rubles for his work.
The material damage to the injured party of the young men was compensated. But… a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”) was initiated. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment of up to 5 years.
Another “nuance” of the story: investigators established the involvement of the same young man in a similar crime in the city of Saki. Acting according to the same scheme, the attacker deceived an 84-year-old local resident, who gave him 70 thousand rubles. So you will have to answer… to the fullest extent…
