In Yevpatoria, a drunk driver tried to pay off for not being held accountable
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Yevpatoriya, traffic police officers stopped a car on Gogolya Street, driven by a 35-year-old local woman whose behavior indicated that she might have been intoxicated while driving. The woman had incoherent speech and a strong smell of alcohol was coming from her mouth.
The lady driver persistently offered the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate officers a cash reward for not bringing them to administrative responsibility. The driver was repeatedly told that her actions were illegal and subject to criminal liability, but she ignored the warning and left money in the patrol car. An investigative task force was called to the scene for further investigation, which recorded the fact of an attempt to bribe the traffic police officers.— the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Crimea notes.
State Traffic Inspectorate officers removed the woman from driving and offered to undergo an intoxication test, which she refused.
A protocol was drawn up against the driver under Part 1 of Art. 12.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Failure by the driver of a vehicle to comply with the legal requirement of an authorized official to undergo a medical examination for intoxication). The vehicle was placed in a temporary detention parking lot.
The materials collected by the police officers were transferred to the investigative authorities for making a procedural decision.
