In Yevpatoria, a drunken violator tried to bribe a state traffic inspector
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Yevpatoria, the illegal actions of a car driver who tried to bribe traffic police officers were stopped.
Traffic police inspectors in Yevpatoria stopped a Chevrolet passenger car. The behavior of the man driving the vehicle aroused police suspicions that he was intoxicated. The driver refused to undergo a medical examination. Traffic police officers invited the citizen to go into a company car to draw up a protocol on an administrative offense under Part 1 of Article 12.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The offender suggested that the police resolve the issue “on the spot.” Traffic police inspectors warned the driver about responsibility for giving a bribe, but the man did not react and put 5,000 rubles between the front seats of the official car.
A criminal case has been initiated against the driver on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 291.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to one year. The citizen was also brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 12.26 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
