Utility workers are not responding, the prosecutor’s office is looking into it.
In Yevpatoria, the prosecutor’s office will check the circumstances of the fall of a man and a child into a storm drain. The reason for the inspection was the situation described in the VKontakte group, Evpatoria Overheard and Spied on:
On October 20, at about 7 p.m., the intersection of Pionerskaya and Bartenev from Lenin Square. A man with a baby in his arms stepped on the edge of the hatch and fell through with his right foot, fell himself and dropped the girl. His leg was caught in the lid, he got out, but was limping badly.
The hatch is a meter from the pedestrian crossing, in the dark its slightly open lid is hard to see; parked motorists (which was the injured man) often walk there, ride bicycles and scooters.I called the rescue service, they connected me with the duty officer of the unified control room at the administration, the application was accepted, the next day — the same picture — a slightly open hatch with our branch for visibility. They didn’t even fence it off — welcome, dear Evpatorians, to a free extreme attraction!
Utility services did not respond; the prosecutor’s office took up the problem.
During the inspection, the prosecutor’s office will assess compliance with legislative requirements in the field of housing and communal services, including in relation to the activities of public utilities responsible for this site. If there are grounds, response measures will be taken— reported the supervisory agency.
