In Yevpatoria, a man who beat his mother will go to a maximum security colony
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The prosecutor’s office of the city of Yevpatoria supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a previously convicted 42-year-old local resident. He was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 116.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (battery by a person with a criminal record for a crime committed with the use of violence).
The court found that the convict, having an outstanding conviction for attempted murder, at the end of July last year, while at his mother’s place of residence, struck the latter in the face with his fist.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 7 months in prison. He will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony. The verdict has not entered into legal force— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
