In Yevpatoria, police officers identified a suspect in displaying prohibited symbols

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea, in collaboration with colleagues from the FSB Directorate, identified publications demonstrating prohibited symbols.

As a result of operational search activities, police identified a 17-year-old resident of Yevpatoria, who published photos and videos with prohibited symbols on his personal pages on social networks. It was established that this person had previously been brought to administrative responsibility for propaganda or public display of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols. The operatives detained the offender and took him to the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Evpatoria. The young man admitted his guilt— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

The materials collected by the police officers were sent to the investigative authorities for making a procedural decision.

As the Investigative Committee clarified, the young man is suspected of publicly displaying Nazi symbols, committed by a person who was previously subject to administrative punishment for a similar fact (Part 1 of Article 282.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The investigative department for the city of Evpatoria established that, on the basis of a resolution by the commission on juvenile affairs, the young man was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation: on his pages on social networks he posted the Nazi symbol “Black Sun”, classified as in accordance with the decision of the Frunzensky District Court of the city of Vladimir to extremist materials. Despite the punishment, after a while the young man again published Nazi symbols on a social network banned on the territory of the Russian Federation— said the Sledkom.

Searches were carried out at the place of residence of the detainee. Currently, the investigative authorities, together with colleagues in the security unit, are establishing other possible illegal activities of the young man and his immediate circle.
