In Yevpatoria, the police became interested in a guy with a cardboard box. What was in the box…
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Yevpatoria, police completed a criminal case against a local resident. First, a report was drawn up against the 22-year-old guy under Art. 6.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (drug use), then the attention of the police was attracted by the detainee’s package, which contained a cardboard box. Then there is nothing surprising — the article of the Code of Administrative Offenses grew into an article of the Criminal Code, since the box contained hemp, a narcotic plant. And the weight of the “grass” — more than 100 grams — was not at all beneficial for the young man.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to ten years.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Why so strict? The weight of the box’s contents affected it. Article 228, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation establishes liability for any illegal transactions (except for sales) with psychotropic and narcotic drugs and their analogues, as well as plants and their parts containing psychoactive substances on a large scale. Now it’s up to the judges.
