The “New Chersonese” project, aimed at restoring historical heritage and developing tourism, is participating in voting on the platform “Russia — a country of achievements.” The goal of the project is to tell about what our country has already achieved in the 21st century, to give everyone the opportunity to get acquainted with the scientific, technological and cultural potential of our Motherland.

Let us recall that in 2015, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of the historical and archaeological complex “Tavrichesky Chersonesos” for the development of historical territories of Russia, the construction of which is a special experience for Russian science. Museums of Antiquity, Byzantium, Christianity, Crimea, an international archaeological complex have already appeared here, tourist and pilgrimage centers have been built, neighborhoods have been developed with the reconstruction of the ancient appearance of Chersonesos and other objects. Scientists have restored the appearance of streets, cathedrals, residential buildings and public spaces of the 10th century — the time when Prince Vladimir was baptized here.
The historical and archaeological park «Chersonese Tauride», which has existed in Sevastopol for more than a century, after many years will receive a well-deserved expansion of exhibition space, improvement of the material and technical base and innovative scientific laboratories at the International Archaeological Center, which will attract scientists from all over the world.
Experts rightly believe that the largest complex, which has no analogues in Russia, will become a powerful driver for the development of the region in the following areas: attracting tourists, developing the cultural component and creating a pilgrimage center. Chersonese Tauride will attract pilgrims and tourists not only from all over the country, but also from all over the world, since after the implementation of the project, for the first time, the Russian Historical and Archaeological Park «Chersonese Tauride» will enter the top world complexes of this type, along with such museums as the ancient Roman city of Pompeii.
