“Interesting bag” in the back room of one of the enterprises in Simferopol. And in it… an arsenal

Simferopol police identified and seized weapons from the head of a department of one republican enterprise.

Police department No. 1 “Zheleznodorozhny” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Simferopol received a message from the management of the security service of one of the Crimean enterprises about the discovery of a bag with several weapons and ammunition. During an inspection in the company’s utility room, police discovered and seized 9 weapons and more than 350 ammunition of various calibers. According to the examination, 3 seized weapons and cartridges are suitable for firing shots, the remaining 6 are components— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

As a result of operational activities, criminal investigation officers established the involvement of one of the company’s employees, a 52-year-old local resident, in criminal activities.

The suspect explained that he purchased the seized weapons and ammunition for the purpose of self-defense in the period from 2010 to 2014.

The Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol opened a criminal case against the suspect on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, forwarding or carrying of weapons, main parts of firearms, ammunition.” The suspect faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years.
