Interregional competitions in acrobatic rock and roll took place within the walls of the Musson sports complex. 150 athletes from all over the Southern Federal District came to the tournament.
Today in Sevastopol, about 300 children throughout the city are passionate about this sport. Athletes train at sports school No. 6, which has its own department. And most importantly, acrobatic rock and roll is a basic sport for Sevastopol– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the city’s sports department, Sergei Reznichenko.
Sevastopol athletes show good results at all-Russian competitions — the Flying Fish team recently took fourth place at the Russian Championship.
Acrobatic rock and roll combines sports and dance. That is, there is a place for creativity, here, as in athletics, there is only sport, as in dancing, there is only creativity, this is a combination of two parameters. Acrobatic rock and roll has several levels of difficulty, they depend on the age of the athletes. For example, the youngest are not allowed to perform acrobatic elements. They just dance.
Why are they called boys/girls, boys/girls and juniors/juniors? Because that’s all their age. The youngest are, roughly speaking, from 8 to 11 years old. A little older — from 11 to 14-15 and so on. Here is the most adult category, man/woman – it is more liberating for acrobatics. The athletes competed in more than 10 disciplines, and a winner was determined in each. The next time you can see performances is on December 24 at the New Year’s tournament in Monsoon.
