Investigators are looking into what kind of gas exploded in an apartment on the northern side of Sevastopol

A criminal case has been opened in Sevastopol regarding the performance of work or provision of services that does not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of citizens, in connection with an incident in the Nakhimovsky district of the city of Sevastopol (Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Let us remind you that this morning in an apartment building at 18 Levanevskogo Street there was a explosion, and then — the collapse of part of the ceilings between the second and first floors, where there was a non-residential empty room. No one was injured as a result of the collapse.
Deputy Head of the Main Investigation Department Andrey Bykov, the leadership of the Nakhimovsky Investigation Department, experienced investigators and forensic investigators immediately went to the scene of the incident. Currently, the officers have begun interviewing the residents of the house and inspecting the territory. In the near future, documentation on the maintenance and servicing of the building will be requested in order to establish the exact cause of the incident and the circumstances that almost led to the tragedy— reported the Investigative Committee.
It has been established that the house is supplied with gas; investigators are checking information about a gas cylinder fire in one of the apartments.
The progress of establishing the circumstances is under the control of the leadership of the Main Investigation Department in Sevastopol.
