The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a storm warning about adverse weather conditions in Crimea for January 19 and 20.
According to the Crimean Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, due to the passage of frontal sections on January 19 and 20, rain is expected in Crimea, turning into sleet, snow on January 20, very heavy precipitation in the southern, central, eastern regions and in the mountains. Deposition of wet snow, ice, black ice. Strengthening southwestern winds with transition to northeastern winds of 15-20 m/s, in some places up to 25 m/sthe message says.
Rescuers note that in such conditions there is a high probability of emergencies associated with accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, an increase in the number of road accidents, disruptions in transport communications, obstruction of traffic on roads, long descents and ascents, dangerous turns and mountain passes . Flooding of areas is possible.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea recommends that road users observe the following safety measures:
– if it is impossible to limit travel, be extremely careful on the road, do not exceed the speed limit and strictly follow the traffic rules;
– do not park vehicles under trees, billboard structures, or electrical wires.
– if the elements find you on the street, you can take shelter from the strong wind in entrances and underground passages; you cannot hide behind billboards, bus stops, trees, etc.;
– use reflective elements on clothes, bags, umbrellas, etc.;
– if you have a hood or umbrella, clear your field of vision to the left and right in advance.
In bad weather, pay special attention to the safety of children and the elderly, and be attentive to others.
In case of emergency, you must call: 112 — a single rescue phone; 102 is a direct police line, open 24 hours a day.
