Sevastopol resident Alexander Shalimov (he also represents Crimea in the parallel standings) became the bronze medalist of the Fonbet international judo tournament, which took place on June 24-25 in Chelyabinsk at the Traktor Ice Arena.
More than 300 judokas from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, China, UAE, Serbia and a number of other countries took part in the competition, which was also the second stage of the Russian Judo Tour professional series.— notes «Crimean sport».
Alexander Shalimov (coaches — Vyacheslav Amelin, Artur Vartanyan and Vladimir Shchelkanov) climbed the podium in the weight category over 100 kg. The Sevastopol resident won four fights, and only in the semi-finals lost to Adili Azhemandzian from China, who, in turn, lost to Anton Krivobokov from St. Petersburg in the final.
