In addition, the people firmly believed that the Ivanovo night is the time of witches, sorcerers, brownies, water, mermaids and goblin. They dig in the light and observe people: they can be seduced by sin, or even completely ruin, and otherwise, on the contrary, help.
And nature on July 7 — only one day a year — opens up to people. He shows his secrets, hears therapeutic herbs magical and can even give a person with great power. True, not «just like that.» To get all these benefits, you need to find a blooming fern on the night of Ivan Kupala. According to legend, the kidney grows out of the fern leaves, which grows and rises, and then turns over and jumps. After that, the kidney cracks loudly and turns into a beautiful fiery flower. The bud that appears is so beautiful and bright that a person cannot just look at him. Also, people claimed that immediately after the appearance of the flower, someone’s invisible hand is torn off. And the task of the person who goes behind the flower is to disrupt him before he disappears and take it to himself.
Then, according to one stories, the lucky one should put the flower behind the bosom and run out of the forest, since all the unclean force that lives in the forest will immediately run behind him. In another betrayal, before disrupting the flower, a person must draw a circle around the fern. And after the daredevil takes possession of the flower, he needs to stay in this circle until dawn. So he will be able to avoid a collision with evil spirits.
As follows from the legend, a person who can keep the flower until the morning and will survive will become a real wizard. He will know everything about the past and future, and all the secrets will be revealed to him. The owner of a magic flower will learn to speak in the languages of animals, birds and insects. In addition, with the help of a flower, a person will be able to find all the treasures and open any locks. Also, a person will have another ability — he can become invisible.
The legend also says that all these abilities will be in a person who will tear the flower of fern on Ivan Kupal, until the bud is stored intact in him. The loss of a flower means the loss of all magical abilities.
What does a fern flower look like? No one knows. They have never found him yet. Someone believes that this is a large red, even “fiery”, flower. According to other sources, it is silver, others say that this is a small white flower. However, the description converges in one — the color of the fern glows.
