June 15 — Green loach, Nicephorus day. Wreaths for happiness

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On June 15, in Rus’, girls wove wreaths for good luck — they made them from bindweed. Houses on this day were decorated with birch branches. In principle, the current day was a holiday. The peasants gathered outside the outskirts in noisy companies, after which they walked the streets in a friendly crowd and sang songs dedicated to couples who were married this year. By evening, the youth gathered for games. On the table on June 15, they always put a freshly baked loaf, which was the personification of the sun, wealth, prosperity.

The Church today venerates the memory of St. Nicephorus, Patriarch and Confessor of Constantinople.

The weather forecast for today is:

  • Does the sun rise in the fog? To a quiet and stuffy day.
  • The fog disappears after sunrise — to good weather.
  • During sunrise, there is stuffiness — to bad weather.
  • The weather will be hot and sunny if the sky is blue, golden or bright pink at sunset.
  • When the spiders do not work at all, they tear part of their web and crawl into a dark corner — there will be wind.
  • Beetles buzz — to bad weather.
  • The north wind will disperse any rain.
  • The thorns of the thistle perianth (burdock) parted to the sides, took a horizontal position, the head became more prickly, emits a sugary smell — for good weather.
  • The sun went behind the clouds in the evening — to bad weather.
  • The nightingale sings all night — towards a sunny day.
  • Quiet from night to morning — the weather will be fine.
