June 26 — Day of the Crimean Tatar flag
Krympress reports:
It is celebrated on June 26. For the first time as a national symbol, the flag was adopted at the congress of the Kurulti of the Crimean Tatar people on November 26, 1917 in the city of Bakhchisarai.
Blue color-the color of the sky is absolutely logically close to all the Turkic-Tatar tribes, which since ancient times revered the sky high and considered the color of the sky sacred.
In the idea of placing the image on a blue background, without hesitation there was a tendency to the image of Tarak-Tymga. This Tarak-Temg in the era of the Crimean Khanate was used by the Geraev, which were the rulers of the Crimean Khanate. It was placed on the portal at the entrance to the Khan Palace, on the wall of the mosque and on the coins of the Crimean Khanate.
When choosing the color of the national flag, the very meaning of the word “COK” (blue), which is the root of many other words associated with such concepts as happiness, renewal and life, played an important role in the Crimean Tatar. The heavenly blue von Flag is associated with the desire for the unity of the people, prosperity, peace.
