Scientists from the Crimean Federal University have developed a biologized method for treating soil, seeds and plants, based on the use of non-ionizing radiation, which affects pathogenic microflora and insect larvae in order to destroy them. This was reported by the Department of General Technical Disciplines of the Agrotechnological Academy of KFU named after. V. I. Vernadsky Alexey Zavaliy. This biologically harmless method will replace chemical plant treatments that harm the environment, soil, water and air.
We have proven that the effect of infrared radiation on soil and seeds has a bactericidal and antifungal effect. Using this method, we get clean seeds that do not germinate colonies of bacteria and fungi. Seeds have 100% germination, very high rates in terms of germination energy and productivity. The combined effect of infrared and ultraviolet radiation on the soil reduces its infestation with pathogenic microflora by more than 90%— notes Alexey Zavaliy.
In addition, specialists have already developed agricultural machines designed for processing vineyards.
This is an unmanned vehicle on which equipment is installed for those means of non-ionizing radiation, which neutralize plantations. Vineyards are one of the most saturated plantations in terms of consumption of chemicals. So, only in one growing season they are processed up to 20 times. If we reduce this load at least twice, we will get a very high healing effect both for the soil and for plants, air and humans.— emphasizes Alexey Zavaliy.
At the moment, experts have already received high results in the cultivation of soil and seeds and are studying the impact on the crown of plants. In the future, scientists plan to grow organic agricultural products using the methods and devices they have developed.
