KFU has developed a project for improving the memorial for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Students of the Academy of Construction and Architecture of the Crimean Federal University. V.I. Vernadsky developed a project for the improvement of the “Walk of Military Glory”, as well as a green zone at the intersection of Subkhi-Kozlov and Sevastopolskaya streets in Simferopol. The work was carried out within the framework of the “Service Learning” program on the initiative of veteran graduates of the Simferopol Higher Military-Political Construction School.
The idea did not arise by chance, because after the liberation of Simferopol under the leadership of Colonel General Tolbukhin, the 19th Tank Corps under the command of General Vasiliev moved to Sevastopol. And this intersection of the Kozlova-Sevastopolskaya road is the beginning of the movement of columns for the liberation of the city of Sevastopol— the press service of the university quotes the chairman of the NGO “Public Organization of Veterans of the Simferopol Higher Military-Political Construction School” and the Council of Veterans of the KFU Academy Leonid Smirnov.
According to him, the implementation of the improvement project is planned upon completion of the renovation of a number of buildings located on the street. Sevastopol.
Works completed by students as part of the Service-Learning program are presented at the Memorial exhibition, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Crimea from the Nazi invaders. It works on the basis of the Academy of Construction and Architecture.
“Service learning” is not just nice words, it is work with the goal of realizing one’s ideas that are needed for society. This year we involved second-year students at the Department of Urban Planning. A socially significant topic was chosen — the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Crimea and Sevastopol from the Nazi invaders, notes the head of the Department of Urban Planning at KFU. V. I. Vernadsky Victoria Sidorova.
Also at the exhibition are thematic course projects of students.
