KFU in Crimea to accept about 300 foreign students in 2024
CrimeaPRESS reports:
This year we plan to accept about 300 foreign students. The dynamics in recent years have been quite specific, because a thousand foreign students were accepted for training several years ago by a strong-willed decision. The university is not ready for such a number of foreign students in terms of infrastructure and staffing, especially those studying only in the field of medicine. Therefore, we are now bringing the number of students accepted for training in line with our capabilities. As the campus expands, that is, starting, in fact, from 2025, we will gradually increase the number of foreign students. I think that in the coming years, somewhere around 450-500 people will be the optimal indicator.— he said.
Kuryanov noted that the geography of admission has not changed much yet, the bulk of foreign students will be citizens of India who will study at the KFU Medical Institute. At the same time, the university has begun active work in the direction of admitting students from African countries, Southeast Asian countries and the Caribbean.
We will continue to look at the situation, since in addition to training within our Medical Institute, we need to develop the training of farmers, the training of engineers for our partners from friendly countries and, accordingly, other specialties that may be in demand in the countries of Africa, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean. In general, where there is a need for specialists trained in the Russian Federation— noted the head of KFU.
