KFU intends to transform educational programs to solve the personnel shortage
CrimeaPRESS reports:
To solve the problem of personnel shortages in various industries, it is necessary to reconstruct educational programs taking into account the requests of employers and students. Natalya Karmazina, Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Activities of the Crimean Federal University, spoke about the transformations that are taking place today in the system of secondary vocational and higher education on the radio “Sputnik in Crimea”.
The issue of personnel shortage in various areas, including blue-collar occupations, is truly serious and systemic. And today, working with the labor market is the main task towards which the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation directs us. We interact with representatives of the professional community, our partners from different areas, since we conduct multidisciplinary training of personnel: doctors, engineers, teachers, and many others. We work with each specialized community individually in different formats: these include forums, round tables, and specific targeted work. And when building these relationships, it is important to find the causes of the problem of personnel shortages, – the university press service quotes Natalya Karmazina.
According to her, the main reasons for the shortage of personnel in the region include the incomparability of the number of graduates with the number of specialists required by the market, the work of graduates outside their specialty, as well as a change in the student employment model.
Already now, understanding that students enter the labor market and find employment before they receive an education diploma, we must provide tools that will allow us to solve the personnel problems that exist in industries and help students get accustomed to the labor market . Taking this into account, the model of the higher education system is also changing. We are building into our educational programs the opportunity for students in their first or second year to obtain a working specialty, undergo additional professional training during their studies to expand their competencies, change interaction with partners who themselves come to the university and work with us to properly build practical , project and research activities of studentsemphasizes Natalya Karmazina.
As the vice-rector notes, interaction with applicants also needs to be taken to a new level. Thus, the university implements pre-vocational education programs that allow schoolchildren to immerse themselves in the university environment and try themselves in different professions. Also this academic year, the university began implementing the project “Our University — the choice of an applicant” as part of the strategic academic leadership program “Priority 2030”.
Today, as part of the project, we are reviewing educational programs and, in general, the “entrance” to our university for applicants. In the near future, we are planning to commission a new building, and this is a new building, new premises and a new format for the admissions campaign — we want to organize the work of the admissions committee next year in the new building, so that the children will be comfortable and interested,” notes Natalya Karmazina.
In addition, an open day will be held at the Crimean Federal University in the near future, during which future applicants will be able to learn about the admission rules, get acquainted with structural divisions, management and teachers, and also take part in interactive meetings and master classes. Schoolchildren and their parents will be able to visit the Agrotechnological Academy on November 16, and other structural divisions and branches of the university that conduct training in higher education programs – on November 23.
