KFU is a partner of the project on preservation of monuments of palace and park architecture of Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Crimean Federal University has become a partner of the project “Tavrida Sokrovennaya”, aimed at popularizing the issues of preserving monuments of palace and park architecture and enhancing the cultural heritage of Crimea.
For the residents of Crimea, the protection of monuments of palace and park architecture is a particularly important topic, because we, as residents of the peninsula, must take care of its preservation. Today, many of the monuments we are talking about are, unfortunately, in a deplorable state. Together with specialists in the field of garden and park architecture and cultural studies, we want to present a visual cross-section of what is happening and at the same time scientifically substantiate the problems that are acute in this area today, in order to thus attract the attention of the general public to this issue.— the press service quotes the project manager, associate professor of the Department of Graphic Arts and Communication Design of the Vernadsky Kazan Federal University, chairperson of the Crimean Republican branch of the All-Russian Public Organization «Union of Artists of Russia» Elena Molchanova-Dudchenko.
The project includes a unique set of events of cultural, scientific, educational and pedagogical focus: holding a plein air «Palace Gardens and Parks of Taurida», publishing an art album «Russian Eden», holding exhibitions, popular science and educational lectures and master classes on plein air painting, creating a film «The Image of a Crimean Estate» (directed by Maxim Glushich) and the website «Russian Estates in Crimea», as well as replenishing museum funds and collections of cultural and educational sites of the Republic of Crimea. Some of the events will be held at the sites of the Crimean Federal University.
The palace and park complexes of the Southern Coast of Crimea have a number of unique planning, compositional and dendrological features compared to similar objects in the Central Belt of Russia. Their succession has formed a completely special natural and cultural landscape of the southern coast, which needs protection and is truly an all-Russian heritage. Developing domestic tourism, which is being given special emphasis today, it is necessary to pay special attention to the parks of the Southern Coast of Crimea. Then tourists will be able to enjoy both the therapeutic balneological properties of this area and the aesthetics of the palace and park architecture.— notes Anna Repetskaya, a project participant and director of the N.V. Bagrov Botanical Garden of the V.I. Vernadsky Kazan Federal University.
The project «Tavrida Sokrovennaya» involves turning to the cultural heritage sites of the Republic of Crimea, which transmit the cultural code from generation to generation — estates with park complexes. Among them are the restored Kessler-Fersman Castle, the reconstructed N.K. Alexandrov-Dolnik Boarding House (the resort complex «Ligo Morskaya»), the Vorontsov Palace, the Kharaks estate, as well as forgotten objects, such as the ruins of the estate of Countess Monzhene and others.
The goal of the project is to increase the attractiveness of cultural heritage sites for residents and visitors of the peninsula, the expert community, university students, and private investors capable of developing the cultural sphere of Crimea.
The project team from the Crimean Federal University also included Associate Professor of the Department of Cultural Studies and Sociocultural Design Anna Kostromitskaya.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives together with the KRO VTOO «Union of Artists of Russia».
