KFU Medical College student Maria Sviridova is the winner of the Sochi Dance Cup in ballroom dancing

The sports ballroom dancing tournament “Sochi Dance Cup 2024” was held in Sochi. The victory in the European program in the “Youth” category was won by Maria Sviridova, a second-year student of the specialty “Pharmacy” of the Medical College of the Crimean Federal University, together with her partner.

The girl has been dancing ballroom for 11 years.

The tournament was superbly organized and took place in a very beautiful place in the mountain resort. Personally, I was impressed by the master classes with great coaching staff that took place the day before the competition. This especially inspired me for further training, because in the future I plan to compete at the Russian Championshipnotes Maria Sviridova.

In the tournament program, dancers showed their skills in pairs and solo performances in several styles: cha-cha-cha, quickstep, samba, rumba, jive and slow waltz. Also as part of the event, an educational program was organized with master classes from professional dancers.

The dance tournament “Sochi Dance Cup 2024” has been held since 2018. This year, more than a thousand professionals and amateurs from Russia and abroad, aged four years and older, took part in it. The tournament is held under the auspices of the Russian Dance Union and with the support of the Sochi city administration.
