KFU presented a program for the development of an advanced engineering school

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Crimean Federal University presented the program for the development of the advanced engineering school of the university «Bioengineering of Living Systems», aimed at the development of personalized engineering technologies.

We are creating an advanced engineering school, focusing on new markets — markets for personalized engineering technologies. So, for example, if earlier there was one pill designed for everyone, now with the help of the genome we can select a personalized therapy for each person, and this is a unique niche. Most of this market today is occupied by imported technologies, and we set ourselves the task of import substitution, which requires completely different personnel. It is their training that our engineering school will be engaged in , — the press service of the university quotes the rector of the Crimean Federal University Andrey Falaleev.

According to him, the school will graduate molecular geneticists, cell technologists, designers of bioengineering equipment, bioinformatics and biotechnologists for both the healthcare and agriculture industries.

Our final product will be immunobiological products, diagnostic systems based on genetic technologies, including for agricultural breeding, therapeutics for personalized therapy based on gene and cell technologies, bioelectronic diagnostic tools, drugs based on antisense DNA and RNA -technologies. We will train specialists who can develop it. Our school will be fully focused on the formation of a real production chain , — notes the head of the NIS KFU. V. I. Vernadsky Elizaveta Ageeva.

The partners of the Crimean Federal University are such educational institutions as the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, the Institute of Medical Parasitology and Tropical Medicine named after E.I. Martsinovsky, the National Medical Research Center for Hematology, and the Institute of Molecular Medicine. Industrial partners include Modern Diagnostic Systems, LLC Central Research Institute Apertura, LLC Engineering Center for Innovative Development.

In total, 89 universities from 41 region of the country compete in the competition for the creation of advanced engineering schools. As a result, 30 universities will be selected, which, in partnership with high-tech Russian companies, will open engineering schools of a new formation. The results of the competitive selection will be known at the end of June.

Advanced Engineering Schools is a federal project created in 2022 at the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. It is aimed at training qualified engineering personnel for high-tech sectors of the economy.
