KFU students are winners of the All-Russian Student Olympiad in Neurology

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Team of students «House of Neuron» of the Medical Institute named after. S.I. Georgievsky Crimean Federal University took second place in the II Almazov All-Russian Student Olympiad in Neurology with international participation. Future specialists are studying in the fourth and fifth years, and are also members of a student scientific circle in neurology. They represented the university at the Olympiad within the framework of the seventh St. Petersburg Innovative Medical Forum on the basis of the Institute of Medical Education of the National Medical Research Center named after V. A. Almazov.

According to the organizers, the goal of the Olympiad is to develop creativity and interest in practical medical activities, disseminate and popularize scientific knowledge about diseases of the nervous system.

Now is the time for those people who must achieve success. Our Medical Institute was represented for the first time at an Olympiad of this level. I would like to note that after successfully completing the remote stage, we took first place in the video business card, which the guys created entirely themselves. All team members were motivated to win. The competitions were difficult because they were intended for residents, but our students completed them perfectly and performed well. Despite all the difficulties, we have proven that our university is one of the best in the country– the press service of the university quotes Alena Meshcheryakova, Associate Professor of the Department of Nervous Diseases and Neurosurgery of the KFU Medical Institute.

The qualifying stage of the Olympiad was held at universities remotely, then the best teams competed in person in St. Petersburg. In the competition, students demonstrated theoretical knowledge and practical skills of a neurologist. About 70 teams from leading medical universities from all over the country took part in the event: from the Far East to Moscow. International participation was represented by a team from the Republic of Belarus.

Participating in such an international Olympiad is an incredible experience. She sets a high standard for all students. It was nice to meet guys from different universities. When you see people who are just as passionate about business, you get very charged. I would like to thank the Crimean Federal University for assistance in organization and preparation, for the opportunity to participate in the Olympiad. Many thanks to the organizers of the event for the excellent holding of the Olympiad. It is especially important to note the head of our student scientific circle in neurology, Alena Viktorovna Meshcheryakova, thanks to whom we were able to prove ourselves one hundred percent. This teacher gives all of himself to his students, inspires them to achieve such incredible heights, – notes Diana Berdieva, student of the KFU Medical Institute, captain of the “House of Neuron” team.

The top ten teams advanced to the finals. Over the course of three days, they showed themselves in several stages: the “Neurological Examination”, “Topical Diagnosis” and “Neurological Diagnosis” competitions, as well as the “Team Game”. In all competitions, the “House of Neuron” team of the KFU Medical Institute maintained its leading position.
