KFU to launch training in three disciplines of high-tech sports from autumn
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Starting this fall, Crimean Federal University will launch a project to develop three disciplines of high-tech student sports: drone racing, sports laser tag, and VR technologies in sports. The project is being implemented at the Crimean Federal University as part of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program.
Our project is aimed at preparing the infrastructure in Crimea for the development of high-tech disciplines and competitions. Our plans include the creation of national teams, the implementation of joint projects with schools in the field of initial military training, and the holding of sports competitions at the republican level. I am sure that the Crimean Federal University will lead this direction in Crimea— the press service of the project manager Igor Boyko quotes.
At the moment, the university has four classrooms designed for training on drone simulators: three in Simferopol and one in Yalta. They will be launched in the fall. The university also has specialized equipment, equipment and mobile facilities for playing sports laser tag. The material and technical base of the university for the development of new sports was assessed by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Crimea Olga Torubarova.
Modern is what attracts young people. For example, laser tag is a modern tactical direction in sports that teaches not only team cohesion, but also strategy. In my opinion, this is an updated initial military training. What was taught in Soviet schools is now applied to our youth in the form of an upgrade. This is a very relevant direction, especially in modern conditions. It will be great if all schools use laser tag as an NVP lesson. Coordination, teamwork and strategy — all the skills that are developed during this game are needed in the conditions of the Special Military Operation and the life of every person. The Ministry of Sports and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea, under the leadership of our head Sergei Aksyonov, will definitely support these initiatives. This sport will develop throughout the Crimea— emphasizes Olga Torubarova.
According to the project manager, its implementation began a year ago. During the test mode, about 300 students completed training in the specialty «Operator of ground controls for an unmanned aerial vehicle» and the direction «Practice-oriented training of operators of unmanned aerial systems with first-person view technology with the construction of an individual development trajectory of individuals», including students and University staff, as well as third parties. Also, competitions in sports laser tag were organized for students and guests of the university throughout the year.
