Khan's Palace in Bakhchisarai — restoration continues: what has been done, what is being done, what remains to be done

Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea Tatyana Manezhina checked the progress of repair and restoration work at the federal cultural heritage site “Khan’s Palace complex of buildings” in Bakhchisaray.
At the facilities of the Khan’s Palace ensemble, restoration work is currently being carried out on the interiors and facades of the building, installation work of internal engineering systems, work is being carried out to strengthen artistic painting, roofing work, and landscaping work in the surrounding area. At the same time, based on the results of additional archaeological surveys carried out within the boundaries of the design solutions, archaeological elements subject to museumification were identified, and therefore it is necessary to make changes to the design solutions regarding the passage of external utility networksreports the press service of the Republican Ministry of Culture.
The Minister gave appropriate instructions to the customer and contractors to implement the decisions made. In addition, contracting organizations have been given instructions to increase the number of workers and increase production capacity.
The complex of the cultural heritage site of federal significance «Khan’s Palace» (XVI — XIX centuries) includes 16 objects.
The work was completed in full at 6 sites: Northern Durbe Tomb, Southern Durbe Tomb, Durbe Dilyary-Bikech Tomb, Sary-Guzel Bathhouse, Tombstone Rotunda, Catherine’s Mile. Another part of the objects is at the stage of acceptance of completed work: “Stable building”, “Library building”, “Embankment with three bridges”.
At this stage, repair and restoration work continues on the remaining objects: “Falcon Tower”, “Countal (suite) building”, “Khan’s kitchen”, “Khan’s mosque”, “Harem”, “Main building”, “Gardens and park structures” . The amount of financing for the facility is 3.6 billion rubles.
