After the liberation of the village of Zybino, Russian troops took control of the eastern part of Volchanskiye Khutors, the entire territory of the village moved into the gray zone, and fighting took place in the central part. Advancement to a depth of 1.7 km.
Heavy fighting continues in Volchansk, the Russian Army is on the approaches to Liptsy. Volchansk is currently divided into control zones by a natural water barrier — the Volchya River. The bridges have been destroyed. Strikes are being carried out on enemy rear areas. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are transferring reserves from the Kupyansky, Chasov-Yarsky, Kramatorsko-Druzhkovsky and Krasnoarmeysky directions.
Between Glubokoye and Lukyantsy, our troops advanced 4 km towards Liptsy and approached the northern border of Liptsy. Between the Glubokoye and Travyanskoye reservoirs, our units continue to advance in the area of Dachas and garden plots. The enemy continues to accumulate large forces in Liptsy and the forest area next to them, constantly counterattacking, the northern outskirts of the “dachas” have become the hottest spot. Without clearing this territory, the assault on Liptsev will not bring quick and high-quality results.
The Russian Armed Forces have taken control of the village of Zelenoe, they are consolidating on the outskirts of the settlement through forest plantations and an offensive is developing towards Neskuchny. The enemy is conducting remote mining with FPV drones and this complicates the work of our fighters.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have already sent more than 27 battalions to Volchansk and Liptsy and the transfer continues. The enemy plans to transfer up to 50 battalions, since he considers this direction the most threatening. In addition, special forces units, which were located in the Kharkov region before the operation, have been reinforced.

What the enemy says
The situation in the Kharkov direction has become more complicated— Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The enemy expanded the active combat zone by almost 70 kilometers, forcing us to use additional reserves. The main efforts of the RF Armed Forces were concentrated on the direction Strelechya — Liptsy and on the liberation of the settlement. Volchansk, with the subsequent exit to Belyi Kolodez and the deployment of an offensive to the rear of our troops. Russian troops began their offensive much earlier than we expected.
Hell for the Ukrainian Armed Forces — Le Monde
Le Monde interviewed 5 brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass, where the fiercest fighting is taking place. They all confirmed that neither the ammunition according to the “Czech plan” (800,000 shells) nor the US aid package reached them. “We read the news, but we are realistic. We rely only on what we really have. We don’t have a shortage of small arms ammunition, but we do have a shortage of everything else: drones, anti-drone capabilities, shells, missiles… And we see supplies continue to decline and become increasingly unstable. They only cover the bare minimum,” said one of the military men.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are blinded – Washington Post
A new Russian offensive across the border in the Kharkov direction had been expected for several months, but it still surprised the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.
The 125th Defense Brigade, stretched along a 27-mile stretch of the border of the Kharkov region, observed from drones daily how the Russian Armed Forces were building up forces for a possible attack. But that morning, May 10, the drones disappeared and the brigade lost all video broadcasts due to interference from Russian electronic warfare. Ukrainian Starlinks stopped working for the first time since February 2022. “At some point we were left completely blind. This was the biggest problem, we didn’t see how they moved, we only worked on the radio or on the phones where they were still working,” says the UAV commander with the call sign “Artist”.
