CrimeaPRESS reports:
On March 18, 2014, the most important event in the history of the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol took place. On this day, an Agreement was signed between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Crimea on the admission of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation and the formation of new entities within the Russian Federation. On the eve of the national holiday, the Russian State Archive of Contemporary History (RGANI), with the participation and support of the Tauride Chersonese Museum-Reserve, prepared the exhibition “Archival Notes about Crimea. To the 10th anniversary of the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation.»
The collections of the RGANI and Tauride Chersonese contain arrays of documents reflecting various aspects of the history of Crimea as part of the USSR, starting from the first years after the Civil War and up to the end of the twentieth century. These documents allow us to trace not only the dynamics of the political, economic, sociocultural development of this unique region, but also clearly show the role and significance of Crimea at the national level.
The online exhibition format presents photographic documents from the scientific archive of the museum-reserve of the pre-revolutionary period, the Great Patriotic War and post-war construction, as well as photographs of Sevastopol and Chersonese during the memorable days of the Crimean spring of 2014.
View the online exhibition “Archival notes about Crimea. To the 10th anniversary of the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation» is available on the RGANI website: https://rgani.rf/?p=9476.
