Killers of an elderly local resident were punished in Yalta
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Yalta, two local residents were convicted of breaking into an apartment, destroying property and killing an elderly man. Depending on their role and degree of participation, they were found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder), part 1 of Art. 139 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal entry into a dwelling committed against the will of the person living in it), Part 1 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional destruction or damage to someone else’s property).
The court found that the men, after a conflict with a local resident, broke the windows in his apartment and illegally entered it. After one of the convicts saw the father of the apartment owner, he hit the man on the head with a brick, which he had previously used to break the windows in the apartment. The victim died from his injuries at the scene. The convicts were promptly detained by internal affairs officers— reported the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea.
The court agreed with the opinion of the state prosecutor about the guilt of the men, sentencing one of them to 11 months and the second to 10 years in prison. Convicts will serve their sentences in a maximum security penal colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
