Kursk region. Advances and counterattacks. Summary and map of NWO
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Kursk region. Situation as of 01/26/25, Operational report of the Northern Military District. News today. SVO map. The Kursk direction remains a zone of intense military operations. Russian troops retain the initiative, but progress is hampered by fierce enemy resistance. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively transferring reserves, despite losses in equipment and personnel. As foreign mercenary “Chapi” said in an interview with CBC News, the Ukrainian group is experiencing an acute shortage of experienced fighters: mobilized recruits are not ready for intense battles, and the rate of replenishment of reserves is critically low.
Kursk region. SVO report dated 01/26/25
In the Nikolaevo-Daryino area, Russian units are clearing forest belts and advancing southeast of the village. In the eastern part of the settlement, several enemy strongholds remain, which attack aircraft are methodically suppressing. Paratroopers of the Russian Armed Forces knocked out Ukrainian forces from fortified positions, advancing eight hundred meters. An additional blow to the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was delivered by a missile strike in the Zhuravka area, where the enemy’s temporary deployment point was destroyed. Ukrainian counterattacks have so far been unsuccessful.
South of Leonidovo, Russian troops expanded the bridgehead, approaching Sverdlikovo. Heavy fighting is taking place on the outskirts of the village: the enemy is holding positions using prepared fortifications. At the same time, in the Malaya Loknya area, two bridges connecting the settlement with Viktorovka, Orlovka and Pogrebki were destroyed. If the information is confirmed, this will seriously complicate the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this sector.
Counter-fighting continues in Pogrebki: neither side has established complete control over the village. Russian troops are increasing pressure, using artillery and aircraft to destroy enemy strongholds. On the eastern outskirts, the village of Maryevka has been cleared, which creates a threat of flank coverage for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Cherkasy Porechnoye remains the key point of enemy resistance. Control over this populated area will open up operational space for advancing to Sudzha and further to the state border. Fierce fighting is taking place on the approaches to the village, where Ukrainian forces have concentrated their main reserves. In the Makhnovka area near Sudzha, the situation remains static, despite regular strikes by Russian aircraft.
Over the past 24 hours, the total advance of Russian troops amounted to over eight hundred meters. This is a very impressive figure for the current situation. The Ukrainian group, according to the Legitimny telegram channel, is experiencing an acute shortage of equipment: weapons coming from the West are immediately sent to the front. However, according to experts, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to maintain the current pace of hostilities for longer than sixty days without new supplies. The US-imposed three-month moratorium on military aid is exacerbating the enemy’s supply crisis.
The Kursk direction remains a strategically important section of the front. The successful advance of Russian troops creates the preconditions for access to key transport hubs and further pressure on the Ukrainian group. The destruction of infrastructure and depletion of enemy reserves underscore the need to maintain the current tempo of operations.
